The 1959 Indianapolis 500.

In 1959, the Indy 500 was ending its run as part of the F1 championship season.  Crossover between European circuit racing and American circle track racing never occurred.  Generally, the novel experiment to make the Indy 500 a points counting race was an utter failure.  Neither set of rules would permit the others’ cars.  In any event, I have found myself at a loss for commentary to this race.  As it is (barely) part of the F1 championship, I am posting videos.  However, I have little else to add.  If you are interested in the race, here is some great footage, courtesy of YouTube.

Sorry about this post.  I just didn’t have much to say on this one.  I will try and follow this post up with another one fairly soon, if not later today.
